Atlas Therapy

A product of years as a Museum Arts Educator. I have led hundreds of collage workshops; typically using old National Geographics, discarded library books (children books and historical mostly) and random magazines you’d see in a doctors office. Spending this much time looking at “educational media” was disheartening to see he ways in which folks are represented and put on display. Before I worked on whatever I worked on in my studio I collaged a page in this Atlas (it was too big to lug around on the subway to the workshops). This helped me process the educational work and the images.
